Release Of The Week

Week 12, 2024

Here’s an older release that still is seriously good.

SENTENCED TO LIFE - TERRIFIED OF LIVING - TOO SCARED TO DIE
BLACK BREATH – Sentenced To Life

First of all, this band was definitely one of the best in their style. Sentenced To Life is their second full length and the fourth release of the five in total they released in the 14 years they were active.

I was introduced to the band in 2011 when I went to Tuska Open Air in Helsinki and they were the opening band, so not ideal conditions but it was a good gig.

The opening track, Feast Of The Damned, really sets the tone for this album. Relentless intensity from start to finish. It’s a perfect mix of old school Swedish death metal and hardcore punk, groovy and heavy as fuck.

I had the honor to see them live once more in 2016. A smaller club show, as headlining band. It was obviously a lot better than the first time. Insanely good.
