The 49th week of 2021 had some real bangers to offer. And the good thing is that you'll get another e-mail with new music tomorrow, if everything goes according to plan.
This is a new part in the newsletter I call notable releases. It's releases I've already listened to or releases I look forward to hear, with my stupid comments about them included. I will try to have this section in every edition from now on. But I'm not going to promise anything.

BARRERA – Visiones Nocturnas
Dark gritty punk, with a really doomy and gloomy atmosphere. The slower tempo and somewhat lo-fi production makes it mightily heavy. At times, when they speed it up a little it’s incredibly catchy in a dystopic post punky way.

CADAVERIC FUMES – Echoing Chambers Of Soul
What a great album and such great songs. I’m a big fan of cavernous death metal and can still enjoy the 90’s melodic kind of death metal. This album is a mix of those to styles done to, if not perfection, very close to it. I really like the contrast of raw, blistering in your face chaos and the atmospheric kind of epic melodic riffing. Makes this album very dynamic, and the progressive elements gives it even more depth. I think all fans of extreme metal will like this, more or less.

GIN LADY – Camping With Bodhi
This is some proper rock. The bluesy kind. Definitely one of the greatest albums in the genre, probably top 3 if you’re one of those ”rank-albums”-folks.

MALIGNANT ALTAR – Realms Of Exquisite Morbidity
My notes about this album said ”Abyssal skull crushing”. I’m not going to add anything else than that the genre is death metal.

PHRENELITH – Chimaera
Another album to obliterate the ”Denmark can’t create good heavy/extreme music” myth (among Swedes). Dark, bludgeoning death metal.
